Playlist requirements, which have been in place unchanged for at least a decade, are designed to provide some semblance of musical continuity on free-form shows, and have nothing whatsoever to do with the career aspirations of KTRU management. I was a KTRU DJ for seven years and to my knowledge not a single person from KTRU management during that time has gone on to career in the music industry. Just FYI. --Previous Message-- : the point I was trying to make is you : don't have to play x amount of required : playlist records so someone can get an : internship at a record label or : publicity firm. : : --Previous Message-- : tanx you for letting us bleed ur ears. : : technically we are a specialty show and : the other part is free form (we think? : danny correct me if i'm wrong) since : 'the others' get to pick from the : entire music library (there is a little : bit of dictation just to make sure it : doesn't become specialty). : : --Previous Message-- : only in the car, and even then only : free : form shows like mutant hardcore flour : hour or ian's local show. : : at work I can stream stations like WFMU : and KDVS that are 100% free form. : : --Previous Message-- : Without turning this into a KTRU : sucks!/KTRU rules!/here's why thread, : simple question: do you still listen to : the station? I'm just curious, I'm : going to be DJing there again this : summer. Don't get me wrong, I'll sit : up there and play stuff even if no one : at all was listening. Again, simple : curiosity. : : : : : : : |
