I like this question...
Back in the day we were carted around by our PR guy, Stan Zipperman as well as our crooked manager Bill Holmes. Much of the time with a photographer...mainly Ed Caraeff. There was also Teen Magazine and many radio station stops. Of course there were local and national TV shows...But after the release of the first album is when most of this occurred. The second album had a much delayed release. I say that because they had released the lead single of the second album prematurely in order to capitalize on the success of Incense and peppermints. But the album was still being written. We had so much time in-between that Ed King went in and changed his guitar solo and the bass on Tomorrow...but the song was already coming down the charts. What they should've done was release a couple more songs off the first album. As it is they put Birds in My Tree on the flip side of Tomorrow....crazy. You see, Bill Holmes knew that he screwed Mark and Ed out of the writing credits for Incense and wanted to make up for it by giving them the follow up single. If it had all been done properly we could have gotten more mileage out of the first album which was number !! in the country! We would have also benefited from releasing the improved version of Tomorrow to coincide with the second album's release. They killed the golden goose. Anyway we did do a couple of TV shows like The Dating Game, The Jonathan Winters Show and Laugh-In that all featured us playing songs from the second album....but the timing was off...no album release to be supported...The second album never charted. A huge opportunity squandered.
As for our new album release we have no idea how to proceed. We want to do a vinyl LP and Digital and I guess CD's but Vinyl is out selling CD's and digital is the current flavor of the day. We are doing this all on our own.. No record company-no management-no agency.
Just a GoFundMe. We're still fixing a couple of songs and preparing a couple more to record...we also have to come to an agreement amongst ourselves as to which tracks and versions are to be included.
We do have a PR person-Lauri Reimer and a light show master-Robert Jacobs' Midnight Sun and our ever present GURUV1 the founder of this message board....and loyal fans like you!
