Dear all,
I'm a first time poster on this message board but it's pink background and red writing have been a very common sight on my Dad's PC screen since the early 2000s. Unfortunately, I am here to tell you all that Dave Nicholls passed away on the 17th March here in the UK. It was surrounded by loved ones, including myself and Dave's wife Celia, without pain and peacefully.
Dad was a life long Strawberry Alarm Clock fan and I'm thrilled that, through the wonders of the internet, he was able to connect with yourselves over the last few years. I often wonder how a teenage Dad would have reacted had he known that he would one day be in touch with the men behind the music he loved.
Incense and Peppermints will be the last song at Dad's funeral at the moment we will pay our very final respects. It embodies everything that we think of when we think of Dad, the time he grew up in and love he gave. There will be tears when those first notes are heard but also smiles of the memories that are left behind. Thank you for everything you ever gave my Dad; both in friendship and music. Incense and Peppermints will play an important part in my life and remembering Dad, so a thank you from me also for that gift.
Cheers,
Steve
(Son of David Nicholls)
