So, according to Lee Freeman, He and Ed King were living together and on the night of returning to LA from a long tour they went to see if there was any food in the fridge whereupon they came across moldy butter. I didn't know butter could go bad. Anyway they decided to take some lysergic acid and came up with what became the Black Butter trilogy. When we recorded the song it was all tied together....no breaks between the three parts, past, present and future. Then Bill Holmes decided it should be broken up so they could get credit for three different songs on the album...a bigger share. A mute point as it turned out. lol
(1): Are there ant unreleased songs from the past?
(2): What is the Black BVutter trilogy all about and did the band ever play it 'live'?
