I think the fans had more of a stake in it than the music world.
I'm friends with Robby Krueger, and have been for many years, and we've never discussed it. Kind of a non-issue, other than the fact it brought all their careers to a screeching halt. But it also generated record sales. They all shared the writing credits which as a result, made them all rich. Especially after the Oliver Stone flick and the advent of compact discs.
I've never harbored an opinion one way or another about Morrison's demise. And likewise, it was never a topic of note amongst the musicians I know. (so to speak)
It did seem odd though. But, I lost several friends and acquaintances to excess. So it's entirely possible that he just over did it, any of it. People tend to think they're invincible. Not realizing just how fragile life is. You're hanging on a thread when you venture out of bounds. It's also a kind of thrill to go to the very edge...and make it back. Sometimes they don't. I guess that's accidental, but not too.
You guys got any personal theories concerning Jim Morrison's early demise?Been watching many things on YouTube about all the possible causes of death.Personally,I think his heart just plain gave out due to all the high levels of toxic poisoning, particularly the alcohol. But then, the heroin overdose theory, as many suspect,is always quite possible. Were there many theories and rumours surrounding his death around LA back in the summer of '71?
