Funny thing about Randy Seol is he thinks it'd be cool, if we did a show with Ed King, to include Sweet Home Alabama and also since we have Steve Bartek on hand, to do Dead Man's Party!
Of course neither Ed or Steve would want to be a party to that! LOL
We actually did start to learn Strawberry Fields Forever at rehearsal not too long ago.
And as I remember, when you played "7 & 7 is" with Johnny Echols it segued into "Happiness is a Warm Gun". I also remember hearing SAC do a jam on "8 Miles High" at the Saban Theater soundcheck. Anything can surface at rehearsals or soundchecks. In 1977 I heard Pink Floyd play "How Long" (originally by "Ace") at their soundcheck at Anaheim Stadium.
Ah yes, the sublime Daytripper instrumental....That's one, if done right, that gets a tremendous response.
and of course the brilliant beatles iinstrumental
Hi Earle,
We don't as a rule....BUT, we did a cover of Mr. Farmer by the Seeds on our 2012 album called Wake Up Where You Are. We do include it in the set sometimes.
We have also been known to do a couple of Hendrix tunes, Little Wing and Manic Depression when things get loose at the end of a show and people are yelling MORE...
Wild Thing has popped up a couple of times too.
We actually backed up Johnny Echols on 7 and 7 is at a private party for our keyboardist Mark Weitz' 70th bday bash.
But we don't rehearse these things....and our drummer Randy Seol despises doing covers so much that he'll leave the stage at the onset...LOL...which is worse than doing the cover.
do you guys do any 60's covers like you did with Doors tunes back in the day?
