I've enjoyed that a lot playing in various bands, I can only imagine how great it must be to do playing with musicians like you guys!
: Back then it didn't matter much to me if they
: did their "hits" or if they did
: the long jams...But, i was partial to the
: long jams because i was paying attention to
: what they were playing. The girls in the
: audience were probably waiting for the
: familiar stuff. As for the lengths of jam
: tunes in general...I feel they have to
: remain open to retain their charm. A lot of
: what goes on is spontaneous and to keep it
: fresh you need that element. There is a road
: map that they, and other groups that indulge
: in this sort of behavior, follow.
: There is a theme....A game plan. There is a
: beginning, a middle and an end. There is an
: order to who's solo is next and all that.
: Not all bands are good at jamming. You have
: to let loose. All the participants have to
: be like minded. The dynamics are an intrical
: part. They all have to be listening to each
: other. The frenzies have to be built up to
: in a very now/live sort of way.
: I know that even today, our band does jam
: tunes and the lengths vary. We know what's
: going to happen where, but it's not exact.
: That would ruin the moment!
: I saw Love several times back then and
: Revelation was a bit different every time.
: Sometimes it was the ultra stoney version
: with Arthur sitting on the floor like at the
: Valley Music Theater in Woodland hills, CA.
: Another time it was totally coherent like at
: the Hullabaloo when we opened for them.
: This was all before the Alone Again Or
: --Previous Message--
: Recently I was online with LOVE drummer
: Michael Ware expressing my appreciations for
: "Revelation" from their "Da
: Capo" disc and he told me some fans
: adored the seventeen minute long psych rock
: epic onstage while others felt it usurped
: too much concert space.Personally,I think
: this one should only be done in accordance
: with the dynamics of the studio
: version, including what I feel to be its
: necessary length. Can you recall watching
: LOVE's live delivery of this one?
