First, I wouldn't want a SAC comp. Buy all their records and Soundtrack albums, because most all of it is gravy!
The 1993 Anthology was/is probably the best comp out if you just want 1 disc.
If I had to make a comp (I'd still rather buy all their albums) and keeping in mind a track limit of some sort, it would include in no particular order....
Incense and Peppermints
Birds in My Tree
Rainy Day Mushroom Pillow
Paxton's Back Street Carnival
Tomorrow
Sit With Guru
Soft Skies No Lies
Pretty Song From Psych Out
Sitting on a Star
Love Me Again
Wooden Woman
Heated Love
Dear Joy
Small Package
Miss Attraction (Long version)
I'm Comin Home
California Day
Girl From the City
I Climbed The Mountain (just kidding)

: Over the years I've seen maybe more than a few
: SAC "Best Of's","Greatest
: Hits",things like that.I once had a
: really great 1993 anthology on CD.Some of
: these were decently comprehensive,some
: eh,not so much.The question is-if it were up
: to you,the marvelous SAC combo,what songs
: for you would comprise a collection that you
: feel would represent the band's musical
: expressions best?Obviously,I don't expect to
: hear "Good Morning Starshine" as
: you have previously mentioned your disdain
: for the tune that ironically wound up a top
: five million seller for Oliver...........
