I love that kind of input and thread...Rob comes to most of our rehearsals and sessions...he knows what we're up to...more than we do probably!
As for the new songs....there are a pack load of them...we all question wether they're representative of SAC or not, but for the most part that's what SAC was and is....a total mix of all of our input....we agree to disagree.
We are done for now with the covers...if we did do one I wouldn't mind doing Rainy Day Mushroom Pillow....it has morphed into something different over the years.
Mark Weitz did do the Ray Manzarek organ parts note for note as did Ed King cop all the cool Robby Krieger guitar riffs on Light My Fire.
As time rolls on with our inability to fund the sessions and fight off our personal scheduling snafu's we keep writing more songs for the band to start developing. We are now finally succumbing to the idea of KICK STARTER....We gotta do it

: Absolutely correct, Frog. What it comes down
: to is the old triangle of
: Quality/Time/Money. You can only choose two.
: The band have chosen to make this a quality
: record and do not have a big pile of money
: to throw at it, so can be expected to take a
: long time. Basic tracks for 4 new songs
: were recorded at the desert sessions. These
: are not complete songs yet, there is a lot
: more to be done on just this first batch.
: The band will soon return to live
: performance mode which will interrupt work
: on the album. The good news is that a new
: song or two may be added to the live show.
: As for the new album, I would guess it will
: be 2015 at best.

: I'd like to hear the full version of Birds
: In
: My Tree (a verse was lost) and perhaps an
: extended version of Sitting On A Star - a
: great song never fully exploited and a
: potential Light My Fire type classic! Much
: as I like lead guitar, I want to hear an
: unrestrained Mark giving us his killer
: keyboard workouts.

: There are ,believe it or not, current artists
: doing psych music, but one of the original
: psych bands, like SAC probably would be more
: interesting to listen to here because what I
: hear of today
: s psych,it's being a bit over done with more
: modern technologies.SAC would need to take
: advantage of these things to some extent, but
: they'll probably do so while maintaining a
: good measure of the original idea of the
: genre. If it weren't for the passing of three
: of its "Forever Changes"
: lineup,I'd really love to hear a LOVE
: reunion album. Some older tunes mixed with
: some half decent new originals ought to work
: here just as on their 2012 release,but I
: think they'll avoid re-doing
: "Incense" just as they avoided it
: last time because I think they feel they've
: become so identified with it,they want to
: show people some of the other wonderful
: things they did.

: Any word on the progress of the new SAC
: album? Are they working on a good amount of
: new original material?How about a working
: title?
:
: I do hope the new material reflects the pop
: phychedelia od I&P, Sit With The Guru and
: Rainy Day Mushroom Pillow. No need to go all
: modern. It's the classic SAC that I want.
