Re: Incense and Peppermints lyrics
Hey George, well far be it for me to argue with the man in the band! But, damn, I still hear that "spice wagons" line every time I listen to the song! I think the rest of my transcription generally follows along with others. It took me a while to get the "divide the cockeyed world" line, otherwise the rest is pretty clear. Remember, I did this by listening to the song alone, there were no Internet lyric sites then. I just wrote what I heard; and I still hear it, even though I've had the official verdict! (which btw was why I posted it here in the first place). Well, since I have your attention, I have always loved SAC, even during the times when it was "uncool" to like SAC and old psychedelic music in general. But then I've always marched to my own beat. Some faves, Rainy Day Mushroom Pillow, Pretty Song from Psych Out, Black Butter and more. I am 48, I missed your generation by about a decade. But I have a band that is called Velveteen Hubcap, which was inspired by the names of SAC, Chocolate Watchband and Ultimate Spinach (we cover Mind Flowers). I wanted something in that vein and did not want to lift it from someone else's lyric or book or movie or song name etc. So I made up my own name. We cover 60's garage and psychedelic obscurities and write original material of the type. I also love Swinging London psychedelia. Anyway thanks for bursting my bubble! --Previous Message-- : Roo, Roo, Roo...Sorry to be the bearer of bad : news....but after having to play the song : now for 45+ years I can tell you it's; : "Occasions, persuasions clutter your : mind". : : just curious, what else do you hear in : there? : : What else : : --Previous Message-- : No more smoking spices for me, but I'm still : right! : : --Previous Message-- : : are you smokin the cajun spices AGAIN! : : : : --Previous Message-- : I transcribed the lyrics to this : song : about fifteen years ago.
