The info on the history board got me thinking about the Cadillac & Lake City Rwy. I drew up a 10'x 10' layout horseshoe shaped with a center isle. Operation would be with either the steamer or diesel pulling a fan trip from Lake City to North Cadillac a couple of trips. Freight operations would see the engine pushing the caboose to Falmouth and switching the Co-op. Then returning to Lake City leaving the outbound cars at Sandstown wye and switching Lake City. The Lake City cars would be added to the Falmouth cars at the wye and the train would then run to North Cadillac leaving the train on the sidetrack there. The engine would cross US131 and pull the inbound cars back to N. Cadillac. The engine would then push the outbound cars across 131 to the interchange. The train would then run back past the wye and push the cars back to Lake City.
Falmouth would recieve coal and fertilizer and ship out hay. Lake City would recieve lumber for the Lumber Co. and would ship out pulpwood and xmas trees in season. You could also have the metal fab plant ship and recieve loads. I changed the track at Falmouth as there was only the main, so you could do some switching there.
