I was out railfanning April 2006, and didn't catch too much action. I did get up in the building across the street from the HJ Heinz Tomato Products Division, Milten Heights, Michigan, and got a nice shot of the shipping/receiving area of the plant. The mainline in front of the plant heads towards the east/Saginaw (left), and the Traverse City Sub to the right. I could clearly see the loading tracks, as well as track that goes inside the plant. I walked across the street to get a shot of RBOX 11059, being loaded with condiments destined for the east coast.
As I was shooting the above picture, Milten Heights Engine 2 responded to the plant from the enginehouse across the street. Apparently there was a sprinkler activation in the facility. I didn't get a shot of the response into the plant (them fire people are quick!!!), but did catch them coming out of the plant on their return to quarters.
Maybe I'll catch some action on the rails next trip out!
Enjoy
