Dave, to your question about industries served at Sandusky, I posted that question oh about a year or so ago and can't recall who answered. However the answer wqas that there were no customers for the DC&S in Sandusky.
I poked around the lumber buildings a little last summer but couldn't figure exactly where the main was or much about the track layout.
Steve is right when he says we need to figure out what tyhe layout looked like. Would be nice to see some pics form the 40s huh?
I was thinking about using a couple of Pere Marquette / C&O engines for power still in their original livery as though they were on a long term lease. Maybe a RS1 from somewhere such as the Ann Arbor.
What kind ofg a paint scheme did you or Steve have in mind. Sounds like there should be some fun in May.
