Wow..Tom and myself had just recently discussed the modeling possibilities of the DC&S.
Post 1953..say the Duffy's purchased the DC&S and modernized the power (replace the steam engines with ALCo S-2's and maybe an EMD switcher or 2)..the paint scheme would be a clone of the PH&D's.
Post 1970's power could be some hand me down ALCO hood units (RS-1's or RS-2's).
Traffic would still probobly be mostly agricultural coming from the 2 elevators in Snover, one in Peck,and the one in Hemans..possibly oil for the fuel dealer in Decker..plate steel for Jenson Bridge in Sandusky..and auto parts traffic from Trellborg in Sandusky.
Salt, sand, gravel, tar(?), and other supplies for the Sanilac County Road Commissions property between Sandusky and Watertown.
The line would be Caro-Peck and interchange with the NYC/PC/TSBY/HESR at Caro, and the C&O/CSX/HESR at Sandusky.
We could model the HESR sandusky branch into Sandusky in the present!!
I better end this post before I really go off the deep end!!!
