Your plans sound wonderful.
The only comment that I have to make, is have you checked for space.
Have you planned the table lay outs allowing for head tables etc. PLUS all your serving stations. Sometimes all those tables take up more room that you expect.
Yes, please share photos after!!
Cheers,
Dayle

: A couple of friends and I are helping another
: friend plan the wedding reception for her
: son. They are expecting 150 guests. It will
: be held in the church fellowship hall but it
: is well equipped with restaurant quality
: huge refrigerators, warmers, etc.
:
: We would love your input on our menu. We
: can figure out the amounts from the
: wonderful charts on this site. We would
: just like to know if this sounds like a
: balanced, fun and unique meal for our
: friends.
:
: The first food table (2 8 foot banquet
: tables end to end will hold)
:
: Pumpernickel Rounds with Spinach Dip
: (purchased from Publix Deli)
:
:
: Tortellini, Olive and Cheese Kabobs - made
: by me.
:
:
: Large Veggie Basket(picture basket laid on
: it's side with veggies spilling out) with
: cut broccoli, cauliflower, baby carrots,
: cherry tomatoes and small colored peppers.
: Homemade dip served in hollowed out red
: cabbage cups. We will purchase the veggies
: already cut in bulk from Sams.
:
:
: Marinated Jumbo Shrimp with Lemon Slices (We
: are using a large cut glass punch bowl
: filled with ice then mounds of Shrimp on the
: ice) Homemade Cocktail Sauce. We will
: purchase the shrimp frozen and already
: cleaned from Sams.
:
:
: Relish Trays of Black and Green Olives, Dill
: Spears, Sweet Gherkins and Cherry Peppers.
: Purchased in bulk from a food service.
:
:
: A Round Table centered by a Tall Cherubim
: holding pods of Grapes. The table will be
: filled with fruit (watermelon, cantaloupe,
: honeydew, green and purple grapes,
: strawberries, kiwi) and homemade dips
: (Marshmellow/Cream Cheese and Chocolate)
: Fresh Fruit will be purchased in bulk from
: Sams.
:
: Next 2 more 8 foot banquet tables arranged
: end to end...
:
: A large Cheese Board mounded with assorted
: cheese cubes and mini slices plus a sweet
: Pineapple Pecan Cheese Ball and a Savory
: Bacon Cheese Ball. A variety of crackers
: such as the Entertainment and Flatbread
: crisp will be accompany. All purchased from
: Sams.
:
: Red Potato Salad - made by a friend
:
: Antipasto Salad - made by me
:
: Savannah Chicken Salad on Mini Croissants -
: made by another friend (Croissants from
: Sams)
:
: Southern Baked Ham with Biscuits and Honey
: Mustard Sauce. I am making the Ham and
: Sauce, the biscuits will be purchased from
: Sams.
:
: Platters of Popcorn Chicken with Barbeque
: Sauce (bought hot that day from Publix Deli)
:
: Feijoida, rice, mandarin oranges. This is a
: last minute addition after the other food
: was planned. The bride is Brazilian and
: wanted something from her culture. Feijoida
: is the Brazilian National Dish. She is
: making it ahead and freezing it. It is
: quite expensive to prepare as it includes 3
: or 4 types of meat so she is just making
: enough for everyone to have a taste. We
: will include the very small 1/2 cup bowls by
: the Feijoida as it is juicy and would run
: into the other food on the plates ...plus
: that will help control the serving amount.
:
: We will have a Candy/Dessert Table with
: Assorted candies including gumballs, purple
: Jordan almonds, purple dark chocolate kisses
: and passion fruit swizzle sticks, wedding
: mints and mixed nuts.
:
: Also on the dessert table will be special
: Brownies baked by the bride decorated with
: their initials, and passion fruit truffles
: made by the bride. She is making these
: ahead and freezing them.
:
: We are purchasing Cheesecake Squares and
: Italian Butter Cookies from a local bakery
: to complete the dessert choices.
:
: The wedding cake is a white cake with
: strawberry filling and vanilla buttercream
: icing.
:
: We will serve our cold beverages in the
: trendy Beverage Dispensers. One will be
: Iced Tea with Lemon and Lime slices, the
: other will be Lemonade with Blueberries and
: Strawberries. We will serve hazelnut
: (groom's favorite) and dark roast coffee
: with assorted creamers, sugar and splenda.
:
: I am concerned with how the Feijoida fits in
: with the other foods but it is the Bride's
: day. Should we try to change some of the
: other dishes to better fit? If so, what
: would you substitute?
:
: Would love another's fresh look/opinion.
: The wedding is 1 month away so we still have
: time to make changes if needed.
:
: Thanks so much!
