I have never heard of a potluck dinner with servers. Potluck dinners are dinners that people bring different dishes of their choice to share. It is not acceptable to ask guests to bring the food of the bride's choice to the wedding. This is very tacky ! You are a bridezilla . Are you really that cheap that you do not want to provide canned pop for the guests?? What is the world coming to ??? Listen, cut down your guest list to a few close family and friends. Buy a cake, and for goodness sakes provide punch. Enjoy. IF the wedding is in July, why not have a barbecue? grill hot dogs and provide a salad, and dessert. IF you have your wedding at a time of day that is not near a "meal time", it would be nice just to have cake and lemonade. YOU cannot choose a menu, and expect the guests to bring your food! And please tell me, how are you going to hire servers to serve a pot luck? Bridezilla, you need to check on your book of manners!! You can have a lovely pot luck wedding dinner. Just please remember it is up to the guests to choose what they bring. It is not a served dinner. And don't forget to put "best wishes only" on the invites!! Make a "kids food table". YOU can make some things for the kids to enjoy!! Good luck with your wedding. And best wishes too
