I love you gal. My sister is flying in today from Az. We are having a care plan with Mom on Mon. She fell and broke her hip outside and laid there for half an hour before anyone found her and the neighbor got her inside. Then another neighbor was there and she got up and walked with her walker to the BR and turned and down she went. Broke the hip.Mom has been in rehab right now doing well. Because I have worked with this since 69 I know this dang field too well. It truly is a very hard road we are on sweetie. Just know that I am there with you. I have been Mom's advocate there and hey let me tell you some things were able to be changed there for her. The hard thing is allowing them to continue their wishes. I know what happens after an elderly falls and the hip is involved. For whatever reason because it is such a shock to the system from there is almost always a decline which continues. I have been truly blessed to be able to work in this field because it is so much harder on the family as stated. I am so grateful that my Gary did not have to experience this. I miss him dearly but as least he is at peace. All we can do is give them our love and support. I thought of George last Sun when the pastor sang in the home. Oh how they wait for someone to come and share some time with them. I take my twin grandchildren with me some times to see Mom and they are so excited. My girls grew up in the nursing homes they say and and I am so pleased that they hold that respect for the elderly. Mom may not be able to go bck home. She needs assisted living conditions and along with the stroke she had years ago and the surgeries that did not go well for her she is deaf on top of it. This may not be an easy road that we are on but thank goodness we have been given the stamina and energy to deal with this. Dad has been gone for 10 years so she has a scooter that she use to use outside but she did turn it to far once and tipped it over on herself. Never a dull minute on this end. I am sending you strength and peace sweetie. I love you
