A young man in our community chose to drink and drive and was killed on a sharp corner on November 13th, he was only 25 and I knew him pretty well. Tomorrow is his funeral at the high school and I'm helping to run the kitchen since I worked there for 10 years. It's the second time I've volunteered to do this. A dear friend of mine lost her son 2 years ago in an accident (no drinking involved!) but it was tragic; we also had his funeral at our high school. This will be the same sadness for our community all over again. I guess it's my gift to be able to serve because it's all I can do, it won't bring them back, but I know it's going to be tough. Just makes me sad. Love, Vernie
