Well it's up and down to tell you the truth.
I have carefully protected myself from grief for years, and in that time I had cancer, which as we all know changes everything. So (my counsellor tells me) now I get to feel all the grief I ever had because I finally have given myself some sort of (minimal) permission to do that.
Yes. I got me boots, the teenaged hell on wheels. He's saved Boswell's life, cuz Bos was dying of grief when Barkley died, and they are just best buds, which is pretty neat since Bos is 15. He's made me laugh a LOT. Those were the two jobs I put on his skinny little shoulders, but he took on a third - he also saved Baltimore's life. She stopped eating when Zak died. She was days away from complete liver failure when he came home. She got so damn pissed about that that she tried to starve him out by eating all the food in the world, and recovered quite nicely. Now she's her lovely grumpy self who growls and fights either one of those two guys whenever they look at her.
So yay for Boots.
Work helps, and I'm doing heaps of it. I do believe that spring may have sprung here (man it's been late this year) so this weekend, which is the traditional gardening weekend in Canada, I'll be up to my boots in yard stuff, and that's something I'm really looking forward to.
Other than that, it's pretty quiet while I go through all this.
