Autumn is such a beautiful time of year - my favorite season up here in the mountains. I'm sorry yours has been forever tainted by these painful memories. If it helps, remember that your mom is always there with you - listen for her voice whispering in the wind when that crisp fall breeze hits you in the face; look for her smile in the bright colorful leaves as they shine in all their autumn glory; imagine her wrapping her arms around you when you put on your favorite fall sweater to keep you warm on those cold autumn evenings.
As for the bc stuff, I'm afraid I don't have much advice to offer you there. So just stomp your feet and yell "NO NO NO!" Then go out for a walk in the crisp autumn air and enjoy the sound of the leaves crushing beneath your feet, and breathe in that cool autumn breeze and remember that you're alive. You're a SURVIVOR.
All the best to you.
