What a world to grow up in, barbs. What wonderful memories and stories of you growing up. That's great. Love hearing 'em!
And yeah, Etta could melt ice.......such a powerful voice and so smooth. Like melted chocolate. Really nice. Reminded me of a rougher version of Mel Torme in a way, that same velvety voice but hers was more outright emotional than his. He was very cool but had a warm tone.
