I so understand what you are going through - I have lost two cats to cancer in the last year and am currently spending a fortune on a third cat, Gabby, as she undergoes chemo treatments for lymphoma. The treatments are working - she is back to her old self and suffering zero side effects (amazingly). But the doc says she has 18 months to 2 years so I know the day will come when we will have to put her down as well. They are innocent, little people to us, so sweet and loving - the grief can be unbearable those first few days. The 2 I lost last year were 17 and 14 yrs old - part of our lives for so long. It's hard to imagine life without them. I cried for weeks. It helps. I still have three cats left but I am the type of person that would probably go right out and bring home a precious new furbaby as soon as I felt ready if I were left without. It helps, for me at least.
I am so very sorry....
