SOUL FOOD ENTERTAINMENT PRESENTS THE RETURN OF JOE SMITH IN A LIVE RECORDING SESSION
Smith, one of the most sought-after producers in the city of Detroit, through his own Soul Food Entertainment production, wants to continue to bring his own special mix of gospel, traditional, and contemporary music to the world with this release. “People have been asking me for years when I’m going to record an album again…after focusing on so many other artists, I finally knew this was the time to release my own project…,” says Smith. Smith, Music Director for Dorinda Clark-Cole for the last 4 years and Minister of Music for Great Faith Ministries, continued to produce, write, and travel across the country with several artists including Dorinda, Fred Hammond, Karen Clark-Sheard, Ki-Ki Sheard, and the late Chris Jones.
Smith’s debut album Joe Smith featuring Blessings and Praise was released in 1994. Since then Smith through his production company has produced for movie and television soundtracks (Deep Blue Sea and Nikita Blues), Anwar Robinson (American Idol finalist), as well as several other local and independent artists and groups, recently received a Grammy and Stellar award nomination for Dorinda Clark-Cole’s (For the Rest of My Life) and along with Fred Hammond, Stellar nomination for the Singleton’s (Worthy to be Praised).
