She is very electric and will not back down from anything or anyone. She is a great woman of faith and loves her child to no end. She is very dramatic yet very funny. This role is a vocal role and requires singing. Valerie Samuels Character Age: 32-42 Valerie Samuels is he wife of the lead. A very loving wife she has never let hi forget that she is always there. This character is a major force in telling this story. She laughs, cries and most important sings. This is a very vocal role. Vocals are this characters strong point. Officer Robert Willis Character Age: 24-50 Officer Robert Willis. He is rude and cruel. He has no heart for the inmates and he is not afraid to show it. This character is a very harsh and cruel man. He must make the audience cringe every time he steps on stage. This role has very minimal vocals. Joseph Evans Character Age: 35+ A very caring person. This character is a breath of fresh air in this production. The faith and cheer that is needed comes from this man. He is very pleasant and has the potential to go with you beyond the stage. This role has very strong vocals in this production. Candidate must be a strong vocalist. Sonia Flowers Character Age: 18-30 Sonia Flowers is the daughter of the late James Flowers. It was her fathers death that has landed Michael E. Samuels on deathrow. She hates this man for what he has done and now is faced with the task she has always thought about. She must now face the man accused of this crime.This a very vocal role. Singing is a must in this role. Rev. Frank Patterson Character Age: 40+ Rev. Patterson is a very encouraging man. He will always refer to his bible and qoute scriptures thoughout the show. He is trying to share stories of faith with this inmate and wants to encourage him. This role has no vocals but it does have the most crucial point of the show. Warden Simmons Character Age: 40+ This character is a very business type man. He is to the point and everything is truly just business. He is very serious and treats deathrow just like it should be, strong, silent and to the point. This role has few vocals Officer Tony Monroe Character Age: 20+ This is a very comedic role. This character very funny lines. He has some vocals. Rena Samuels Character Age: 4-10 This is daddy's little girl. The daughter of Michael Samuels this is a very small but powerful role Thank you,

Bishop's Kid Gospel Play Productions will be holding auditions for it's production of Kenneth G. Craddox's "A DEAD MAN WALKING". This original piece was written and will be directed by Kenneth G. Craddox. We have a very relaxed and flexible rehearsal schedule and shows will run starting September 23, 2006. This is a touring production. Shows are scheduled for New Jersey, Columbus, Ohio, Pittsburgh, PA. and Toronto, ON. Located in new Jersey, we are looking for top caliber performers. This production has won several awards over the past year with our performers moving on to other areas of their gifts such as recording contracts and film work. You could be next.
