Intro It’s B-C, and A-1 Beat Jack, what’s up Tonex Chorus: I’m an eight time stellar, 2 dove awards- Plus I’m Grammy nominated; I’m still the most hated They rejected me; they took my name through the mud- Now I’m coming out the closet with a question, where’s the love? Verse 1: I’m an artist; I’m doing my thing for the lord- For me and Gospel music, it’s nothing but a war. People have it easy, while my struggle is the hardest- I have a record deal, but my contract is garbage. You think I have it made, because I have a little fame- But the real deal, all of my fame just cause me pain. The music industry made my life a living hell- The label don’t love me because my records don’t sell. I sold a few records, I didn’t go platinum- Now I need some help, so I try to holla at them. The label played me; you know I fell through the trap- I called the record label, but they won’t call me back. Chorus: Repeat Chorus 2 times Verse 2: I’m an artist; I write about life, I keep it real- People want to be me; they don’t know how I feel. They tried to put me in box, I wouldn’t fit- I’m in the lime light now, I really want to quit. I went on tour and did a few shows- I’m broke like an artist in the hood with a demo. No furniture, no chairs, I never been scared- I’ve lost everything and really don’t care. I’ve sick of the fate in the music industry- People don’t minister, they just compete. They act like Judas at the last supper- I’ve seen so many Gospel artists hate each other. Chorus: Repeat Chorus Verse 3: I’m an artist making music with a tight sound- People write me just to kick me when I’m down. I don’t know how much more I can take- People don’t show love, they know how to hate. It’s a crusade; they keep lying on me- Twist my words around to sell magazines. I’m all about the kingdom; they won’t let me be- I’m not leaving Gospel to sing R&B. I’m need a word, because I’m losing my hope- For all my pain and the hurt, I blame the church folks. They said hosanna, now they say crucify him- Don’t worry bout me, because I’m Gone I retire. Do not forget to check out B-C in Today’s Voice. While B-C was in the studio recording his second album entitled “Chasing a Dream”, he went online to “The Gospel Zone” website and saw an article about Tonex retiring from Gospel music. This broke his heart because Tonex’s music brought B-C through some tough times. He went to Tonex’s website to read his blog and listen to the radio interview at www.myspace.com/tonex.
