Also.... Men's central booking DT is a waste of your time....
As a Notary they will not let you into a visiting room without the Attorney also present. What they will do is take your journal (CA no-no) via there Bullet proof pass through window, across their room (aprox. 20-25 ft) and hand it to an officer with the inmate on the other side of a second bullet proof window, where the inmate is (Another CA no-no) where they will observe the inmate sign (yet a third no-no).
Per the two different "Sergent's in charge" on my two trips I did take there, this is an every day practice that Notaries do. (This one won't, but I observed another do it while I was there the first time, who then did it for the client I met... who blew me off for my travel fee as the other notary did the job). The Officers are not interested in what our law requirements are when I took my SOS booklet with me the second time, only their internal procedures. We can take them or leave them, they don't care.

: Has anyone had experience with
: notaizating a document for a inmate
: without a ID card. The LA County jail
: that I would be going to only has
: booking #'s, no pic, no sig on card.
: Someone told me, she feels the jail
: officials have the right person in
: custody, so the booking # should be
: enough to do the notarization.
: Anyone's thoughts??? Sounds valid,
: but is it?
