--Previous Message-- : Verbal - avoid this one. It means : expressed in words. The words might be : spoken, might be written. This is : often missused to mean oral. According to many legal dictionaries, including Black's Law Dictionary: VERBAL - Parol; by word of mouth; as verbal agreement; verbal evidence. Not in writing. However, I do agree that "verbal ..." may mean 'without signature' as in 'verbal note'. Then there is 'verbal process' which appears to be used solely (or primarily) in Louisiana. Avoiding the use of "verbal" to mean "oral" is a good precept.
