I know zippo about printers, but I know mine (HP LaserJet 1300/4 years old) is dirty. I've put it through the cleaning cycle a few times but that didn't work. It still prints perfecrtly on docs that have a left side margin, but on the HUD or settlement statements where type goes pretty much up to the left edge of the paper, it's a disaster - - it prints really messy and leaves a scratchy residue. I've tried to resize the page so the type moves in a little from the left edge, but it still looks bad.
So am I on the hook for a new printer? (Which I'd love but too cheap to spend the money, especially since the printer still does just fine on most docs). Is this what a replacement drum could fix? Any cleaning suggestions?
