Yes, I heard from the Census Bureau about two weeks ago offering a 40 hour work week as an enumerator (temporary 10-week position from April - June) at something like $16 per hour. It’s expected that you can work nights and weekends.
I told them that I could have committed to those hours when I applied for the job back in November, but since then I've had to make other arrangements and have gone back to school two days a week (I have a 4-hour class on Saturdays with a one-hour drive each way, so that alone is a 6-hour block of weekend time that I'm unavailable) and also due to the low interest rates, the loan signing biz is having a temporary surge.
They called again last week offering me the same position. I told them the same thing - I cannot commit to 40 hours now that it's four months later and I have made other arrangements. They said they would call me back with an offer of a part-time position, but I haven't heard from them yet.
