I give a short explanation, highlighting the words INTEREST rate and annual PERCENTAGE rate. As a visual, I grab one of the loan papers and hold it up, then I say, "See this sheet of paper?" (borrowers nod yes) "When you measure across this side in inches you get one number and when you measure this same side in centimeters, you get a different number, but the length is still the same, correct....." I DON'T NEED TO SAY ANOTHER WORD...BORROWERS GET THAT EVERY TIME!!!
