I think what DanS from California is trying to say,is that lenders are so picky about who sees loan documents and they are sending them to Kinko's with employees that have access to all kinds of confidential information on people. We as notaries in California are bonded, insured, backgrounded screened, fingerprinted and have a photo with the SOS. Can the employees at Fed Ex Kinko's give these assurances to it's customers?

: Its a big deal for us notaries to be
: backgrounds screened i.e.,
: fingerprinted, photographed,
: researched etc by SOS, DOJ and FBI at
: our expense every four years in order
: to be a signing agent handling
: sensitive personal info such as loan
: docs. The other day, a lender wants
: me to pick up docs a KINKOs Fed X
: store. I got into it with them about
: Kinkos employees being background
: screened etc. "They have taken a
: quiz/training in
: confidentiality", was the
: response. Well I dont think thats what
: new laws intended. Any ideas about
: who to take this up with??
