If I were asked to pick up loan docs at a FedEx/Kinkos, in place of the $25 edoc print fee, I would charge a $25 courier fee (in addition to my base fee) for the extra stop, waiting in line, etc. Either the lender would agree to pay it or find another NSA. JMO

: Its a big deal for us notaries to be
: backgrounds screened i.e.,
: fingerprinted, photographed,
: researched etc by SOS, DOJ and FBI at
: our expense every four years in order
: to be a signing agent handling
: sensitive personal info such as loan
: docs. The other day, a lender wants
: me to pick up docs a KINKOs Fed X
: store. I got into it with them about
: Kinkos employees being background
: screened etc. "They have taken a
: quiz/training in
: confidentiality", was the
: response. Well I dont think thats what
: new laws intended. Any ideas about
: who to take this up with??
