Laura, remains to be seen as to what the outcome is for the Blackberry storm...especially in our current economy. Most here appreciate your tenacity in surveying what the trend might be....not sure why backbiting is necessary on this board or any other notary board, but honestly it's one of the few boards that still has constructive, non-bashing exchanges without the use of swearing and tearing people a new one. I, for one, would like to see us maintain some civility and courtesy, not like "the other board". What's the old adage, if you can't say something nice...

: I just saw a commercial for the new
: Blackberry Storm due out Nov 14.
: Hadn't seen this commercial before.
:
: I googled it.
:
: The Storm will cost:
: $600 to buy without a contract or
: contract extension.
: $300 with a 1 year contract/extension.
: $200 with a 2 year contract/extension.
:
: I may be off on my prices. Depends on
: where you look.
:
: I predict we are going to see
: something a bit like the latest iPhone
: release: lines and then lots of new
: iPhones.
:
: Here's the lesson:
: When the new iPhone went on sale,
: people gladly stood in line for 5
: hours to get one. A cell phone for
: $700! (Albeit a fancy one.)
:
: My customers came in with them. But
: only the wealthy ones who pay their
: credit cards thousands of dollars a
: month to keep the balance owed at
: zero.
:
: I didn't see any iPhones with my
: customers who have credit card
: balances owed.
:
: I think we are going to see something
: similar with this new Blackberry
: Storm. But since the price is lower,
: some of the people with credit card
: balances will be included. And the
: lines will be shorter. Blackberry
: doesn't have the prestige iPhone has.
:
: Punch line to the lesson:
: In this horrific economy, we still
: have wealthy people, lots of them.
: And they are spending money.
:
: That's who I am marketing to these
: days.
:
: Good luck on your own marketing
: success!
