Posted by Roy C on February 27, 2004, 9:03 pm, in reply to "is anyone going to help me?????" again, because we are all volunteers here and do not have any professional experience, there's no way i could even say why you are experiencing what you do, or what the term of it would be. and again, that's why i urge you to seek someone who has a much broader understanding of counseling. please go see a counselor at your school or else talk to your family doctor (privately works as well) and see if there's someone else you can talk to about it. i apologise that we can't help you any further than this, but i just don't want to make any incorrect assessments and thus make your situtation worse. best of luck to you, Roy C. --Previous Message--
JustMe already provided the advice that i would have said already. in all honesty, seeing a counselor about it is a good idea. no i'm not saying you are crazy, but what i AM saying is that having a counselor besides you will be a thousand times more effective than what words we'd be able to say from online.

: Thanks, but is there someone else who can
: tell
: me how to try to get over it? Please? I'm
: just so tired of always getting in and out of
: the car, going places I'd really rather
: avoid, just because I am paranoid.

: To me, it sounds like you might have some
: issues wth abandonment. I don't know how to
: help you get over it, but you might want to
: ask your parents, or possibly a guidance
: counselor about it. Sorry I couldn't have
: been more help.

: I'm so scared that whenever my mom goes
: somewhere, if I am not with her, something is
: going to happen and that I will never see her
: again. I know this is an irrational fear, but
: even if she runs up to the gas station, less
: than 1/2 a mile from my house, something is
: going to happen. How can I stop myself from
: thinking about all the horrible things that
: might happen?
