I love much of what's in MoM, but feel it fails to establish a major premise - It doesn't show Edward mentoring and dominating Margaret enough to justify her rebellion. I completely missed on first viewing that the book was supposed to be a metaphor for the Edward/Margaret relationship. I wonder if there were deleted scenes that could have tied it together. It's also funny that I was unfamiliar with both Alexis Denisof, since I never watched Buffy or any other Joss Whedon show, and St. Etienne/Sarah Cracknell. I love her songs, as well as Rebecca Pidgeon's "New York Girls Club." And I love the opening theme music. The composer is clearly heavily influenced by Stephen Sondheim. Jeremy is gorgeous. All the performances are enjoyable. Elizabeth McGovern looks wonderful. Parker Posey looks wonderful when fully clothed. While it's a bit too risque to show on American network TV, I'm surprised I'd never seen it on cable here.
