Posted by carolyn I can't find any answers, if I did the right or wrong thing. What are the correct answers when your furry little guy is dying?? Do you hold them in your arms, stay with them when they are not on pain, or do you take them to be put to sleep, still not knowing if they are in pain? I am so sad that my little ferrets had to die so young (I have had 6 ferrets die over cancer in 7 years. (Marshalls) I am very grief stricken. My last 2 little guys died a week apart last week. What I need to know if I did the right thing, by holding them in my arms, while they were in a coma, slowly dying, and finally my hubby took one and the other a week apart, to the vet to be put to sleep. We wanted to be with them all the way, but it was eating my conscious. We had no sign of any pain, but I was so scared of the long wait. Should we have taken them right away to be put to sleep, when they first went to a coma?? I have sooooo much guilt! Please, tell me they weren't in pain while they are in a coma? One lasted way too long and my hubby finally took him in. Please, God, did we do the wrong thing?? Are they in any pain in a coma?? Has anyone else had to go through this? Did you keep them in your arms and love them like we did? It was the hardest time of my life to go through this. After so many ferrets dying of cancer from (Marshalls) we aren't getting anymore for awhile. It hurts too much. I LOVE them all!
