You can do the pill if you like this is up to you. There also is an implant you can have done ask your vet that did the surgery what he/she thinks. I myself do not give drug to my ferret any drug they take is fillered through the kidneys and liver and as small as a ferret's kidneys are it does not take much to cause damage. The swelling will go away in the fall. Clean and check her everyday down there to make sure she has no rash I put vasaline on my ferret when this happens it keeps any pee, poop or litter from sticking to the vulva.
