I'll tell you how.
To make a game:
1.) Choose a programming language (C or C++, Java, Delphi, Visual Basic)
2.) Find a free compiler on the language you choosed (or buy one).
3.) Write text into the compiler and then compile the program.
4.) I'm using C++ and been learning C++ in over 3 years. The best free C++ compiler is Dev-C++. I can tell you that it's very hard and may take many years to make a good game. If it isn't fun for you or if you are only learning the programming language to get money then forget it. Programming is like bowling, or fotball, you don't make games to get money. You do it cause it's fun.
When you have learned the basics of C++, c, or whatever you choosed, then if your plan to is to make a good game you should begin to learn openGL or directX
those graphics languages is for 3D, and graphics of course. ![]()
P.S: To make a text-adventure game then it's around 1000 lines of code.
To make a game like quake or counter-strike it's around 10000000 lines of code (I think it's more actually)
