The best time to start feeding is when baby is ready. The AAP says 6 months, but some babies are ready before then and some aren't until much later. My DS didn't eat much until 9 months old, but my DD looks like she will be ready soon (she is 4 months). Look for signs of readiness, sitting up unassisted, reaching for food, making chewing motions etc. If she is spitting it out from tongue thrust reflex she is not ready. you could also try a different flavor.
