Bleach red hair

I want to dye my hair blue sooooo bad.I have put blue dye in my hair before without bleaching and it stayed blue for about a week and then turned a really nasty green. I want to dye my hair blue but bleach it first. I have naturally red hair and i have found nothing on how to bleach red hair. Any advice??
