There's a scene in a movie where Gwenneth Paltrow lights up and talks about how she doesn't really smoke...she started chewing nicotine gum with a friend who was trying to quit smoking, got hooked on the gum, and had to start smoking to quit the gum. I know it's just a movie, but I'm guessing that's the type of thing your asking about.
