There is no mystery to my flights. I usually take off with a planned route. If I have trouble getting away and the lift isn't as good as predicted, I just modify the plan and go sightsee according to where the lift looks good. Sometimes it's west to see Letchworth and what's going on on Silver Lake. It's always beautiful over the Finger Lakes. Hemlock and Canadice are pristine and relaxing. Conesus and Honeoye Lakes are bustling with boats and jet skis. The area south of Hornell amd near Wellsville is always a treat and the population density is really low around there. Some days, 2 hours is enough flying but on some days 4 to 5 hours isn't enough. Yeah, OK, some day I'll get around to attempting the Diamond Goal, but in the meantime, I just enjoy being up in the air and enjoying this wonderful sport.
