Well if you looked at this morning's sounding

you would have seen all the lake moisture trapped under the inversion at 850 mb (and dry as a bone above that). Or, looked out the window when you got up...totally overcast. But, the sun is as strong as it gets, and the deck started breaking up sooner than we (well, Chuck and I) expected...i.e. by ~ noon instead of 2 or 3. So I do think those early cu would have been difficult to work. However, I overestimated the negative rain effect. We did get well over an inch...and yet it has turned into a great day. It's easy to underestimate the power of the sun, cold advection, and healthy roots.
Cold advection is not in the cards for tomorrow. Sure it will be drier, but...still think the NE flow will make for a lessor day. We shall see.
BTW...just to add more of my confusion...Friday could be better than Thursday!
