Members,
The Pawnee will be ferried to Perry Warsaw on Sunday morning for the upcoming Annual. There is a relatively big AD inspection required every 6 years which is coming due. This inspection requires removal of the wings and dye penetrant inspection of the wing attach points. We therefore need to get the Pawnee to Charley McInerney so he has the time to get this done. He has room in his shop now to do this and other Pawnee annual items. The Pawnee will be gone for at least about 2 weeks. It will return depending, on the weather, then we will switch it with the Citabria whose annual also will come due at the end of the month. The Citabria will require the usual annual plus some wing tip repair due hangar rash consisting of an encounter with hangar column support. Cy Kastner will ferry the Pawnee to Perry Warsaw.
This means that tows will have to be done with the Citabria for the next two weeks or so. Fortunately, this time of the year, density altitude is not a big problem and towing the ASK21 with the Citbria works fine, it just takes longer.
