Unfortunately the progs were generally accurate re this past weekend. Actually Saturday we could have flown...it was VFR as promised, but barely. We had a tow pilot, instructor, and a couple of students, but no one was interested in practicing rope breaks.
Sunday dawned sunny. I purposely didn't mention the back door cold front swinging through in the middle of the day lest someone be discouraged from coming down, hoping it would be rainfree (it was) and brief (not). Finally around 3 Rick's bomb went off, which of course is the sun. When the clouds started breaking up, things got cranking, and yes you could have stayed up the rest of the day. BTW, how long do you think it takes the sun to release energy equivalent to all the nuclear weapons in the world? Not long, you guess? Try one millionth of a second, give or take.
So tomorrow's another bomb of a day. NE wind not a problem this late in the season (you know why), and good cold advection to boot. WEST side of valley kicking off thermals, augmented by 390 diesels. Some people are definitely interested in flying, so off to the phones.
