Or at least John Coburn did. I think he had the only flight of the weekend. Off Sunday at 1130(?) into strong ridge and other lift, and squeezed out by a convergence "front" with rain behind, then changing wind direction and finally home to more social fun. Lots of Doughnuts and laughs today. JR

: Best case: sunny, VFR most of the day, sucker
: cu's in the AM, workable (with hard work)
: thermals in the PM. Ridge possibly working
: weakly, especially PM.
:
: Worst case: MVFR or even IFR most of the
: day, albeit a long shot.
:
: Why? Both NAM and GFS have Sunday AM looking
: good, whereas later in the day they diverge
: dramatically, with the NAM bringing rain
: back in, and GFS keeping it clear. Why such
: discrepancy? 72 hour prog reliability, never
: super, goes in the toilet when a tropical
: storm or hurricane is in the ointment. That
: would be Dave, in case you have been in a
: coma lately. In spite of your TV, wrap
: around North-Atlantic moisture, energy
: (latent heat), and vorticity from that
: system has everything to do with what
: happens here on Sunday, and both models are
: helpless to tell you.
:
: Bottom line: look out the window Sunday
: morning:
:
: (1) If it's sunny, go to the airport.
: (2) If it's raining, go to the airport. It
: may
: clear up. We need to fly. Let's do that.
