All - Trying to do a little advance planning for our Fall Mifflin
trip. Dates will be Weds 9/30 through Monday 10/5. Come for the
duration or a long weekend.
For those not familiar with Mifflin, it is pretty much THE place to
learn about ridge soaring but it's a very nice place to fly even when
the ridges aren't working.. Plenty to do for non-flyers too.
Great airport, great hosts (Butch Thompson, Brian Glick etc.) and this
year we'll have good company from Adirondack Soaring too.
So, mark your calendars now.
More Info:
Flying the Mifflin Ridges: http://mifflin.soaringweb.net/ridge.htm
Turnpoint Map & Files: http://mifflin.soaringweb.net/turnpoints.htm
Where to stay:
Camp on the airfield (shower and hookups available) or
local Places to Stay - http://mifflin.soaringweb.net/accomodations.htm
In the past VSC folks have typically stayed at the Quality Inn
(formerly Clarion), and/or at the Super 8 acrosss the road. Both in
Burnham, < 10 mins from the airport.
Note: Hotels are close enough to State College that they book up if
there is a Pen State home game, so book early (you can always cancel
later).
Other:
Old article from our website from one of our first trips in 2000 -

Please note that we will not a 2-seater with us and instruction will
not be available. However the flying is suitable for 1-26's and up.
So.. load up your trailers and lets go..

like to get an idea of potential numbers. Thanks!!
