The demise of the wet regime is welcome, and the favorable soaring weather which started Monday will continue till the end of the week at least. The 500mb ridge axis in the center of the country has stayed put. The next three days are also going to be good for soaring, difficult to tell which has an edge. Definitely better than the weekend, although too early to tell if it will be all that poor. The translational speed of Rossby waves is inversely proportional to their amplitude, and their amplitude is generally greater in the winter. In other words, I trust the 5-day progs less now than I would in January. It surely will by hot by Sunday in Dansville...hotter than Rochester since with a south wind the air descends over 1,000 feet and heats up ~ 10F. If Rochester doesn't hit 90, it will in Dansville, unless it's raining then.
Bottom lines:
(1) We should fly every day the weather permits and we can get a towpilot or winch operator.
(2) On Sunday, bathing suits will be in order. That way, if we can't fly, we can at least use the garden hose to cool off.
