Twelve tows Saturday saw some of the best lift (and sink) of the season. I was seeing 1,700 fpm in the towplane up from a nominal 700 - 1000 fpm normal climb. The lift was high and broad.
I flew with junior member Eric and on only his 4th flight he managed to get an average 5kts. from 3,000' to 4,700' when we left lift to go work on lesson tasks. I guess 100 hours in the simulator helps sometimes.
Jay had the low release for the day at 1,200 with Mark W. close behind.
Sunday was an interesting day from the hilltop. Even with random light showers passing through, relatively smooth wind directly on the ridge brought all our soaring birds out including a couple random gliders.
