Mark, Doug, others:
Synoptically both days should be good, really difficult to say which has the edge right now. We have zonal flow more or less all the way up, and are sandwiched between the stationary front to the south and a weak system in Canada. That stalled-out front gets more organized into a low over the Southeastern US on Friday, which eventually will lead to warm advection aloft (= bad), suggesting Thursday could be better. On the other hand, the soil continues to dry and will be drier on Friday. The BLIP maps aren't particularly valuable in differentiating here since the 48 hour product is less reliable. Either day good for an out and return or triangle, since winds at 850 mb are squat.
I could fly Thursday but would have to leave early as I have a Planning Board meeting. Friday OK all day. You guys do what's best for you, let me know. Why not both days, if we can get a tow?
